Glan-y-Rhyd Cottage Terms & Conditions


1 Period of hire
Letting starts at 4pm on the day of arrival and ends at 10am on the day of departure. Lets are on a weekly basis (Saturday to Saturday.) The cottage is let only to the persons named on the booking form. Short term lets may be possible subject to availability.

2 Booking & payment
A deposit of 20% in addition to the rental cost is payable when a booking is made. The deposit is fully refundable at the end of the letting period subject to no damages and breakages, which if occur may be charged at cost. The full booking charge must be paid no later than six weeks before the commencement of the letting period. For bookings made less than four weeks in advance, full payment is required at the time of booking.

Acceptable methods of payment are:
We prefer payment by UK bank transfer.  (Surcharges apply to International bank transfers, our bank details are available on request.) PayPal (Surcharges apply for all International PayPal payments.)

3 Cancellations
Should a cancellation be made by the client, the owners will seek to re-let the property for the period of the hire. If successful in doing so a refund will be made less a 5% administration charge. If cancellation occurs less than 4 weeks prior to hire and the owners are unable to re-let, then the entire hire fee will be forfeited by the Client.

4 Availability
if the cottage cannot be made available for the period booked due to events beyond the owners control and the owners are forced to cancel the booking, the whole of the hire charge will be refunded and the Client will have no further claim against the owners. Clients are advised to take out an independent holiday cancellation insurance policy.

5 Number of persons using the cottage
The number of persons occupying the cottage when booked as a one bed must not exceed two and must not exceed four when booked as a two bed. When booked as a one bed the second bedroom will remain locked unless otherwise agreed beforehand.

6 Breakage or damage
We reserve the right to deduct payment from your deposit for any breakages or damage that occurs during your stay. However, we will look favourably upon an honest attitude and early reporting of any such breakages or damage.

7 Pets
Strictly no animals are allowed inside or in proximity to the property without written permission from the owners. Where consent is given and appropriate payment made you are responsible for cleaning up after your pet inside and outside the property.  Failure to do so will result in the loss of your deposit.

8 Surrounding area of the cottage
The cottage benefits its own front garden bordered by the river to the front and a farmers field to the sides and rear. The track to the cottage and surrounding field does NOT belong to the cottage and Client’s only have the right of way. The speed limit on the track is 5mph and extreme caution must be taken when driving near animals. Whilst you are permitted to roam in the surrounding field no picnics or barbecues are allowed and the animals must not be aggravated.

9 Camping
No camping is allowed on or in proximity of the property.

10 No smoking is allowed inside the property.

11 Care of property & Cleaning
The Client shall take reasonable and proper care of the property, its furniture, pictures, appliances and effects in or on the property and leave them in the same clean and tidy condition and state of repair at the end of the letting period as at the beginning.  Before departure the cottage should be vacuumed, bins emptied, oven cleaned (only if used) and surfaces wiped using cleaning materials provided.  A deduction from your deposit will be made if the above has not been done properly.

12 Liability
The owners shall have no liability whatsoever for any death, personal injury, damage or loss of property whilst on or in the cottage during the term of the let. You are urged to practice caution at all times when it comes to personal safety and safekeeping of your party (especially children*) and your personal possessions. Clients are advised to take out suitable holiday insurance.

*NB. Due to the proximity to the River Conwy and the ease of access we urge extreme caution to families with children.

13 Injury loss or damage
The use of the property and its equipment is entirely at the Client’s risk and no responsibility can be accepted by the Owners for injury to the Client or a member of his or her party, not for injury, loss or damage to their belongings, including motor vehicles.

14 Clients responsibility
The Client is responsible for the property and its contents which should be left clean at the end of the holiday, and breakages, damages or faults must be reported to the Owner’s as early as possible.

15 Right of entry
The owner reserves the right of entry to the property at all reasonable times for the purposes of inspection or to carry out necessary repairs or maintenance and to ensure the terms of the let are being adhered to.

16 Contract
The Contract of Hire is between the Client and the owner of the Cottage.

Any breach of these terms could result in the loss or partial loss of the Client’s deposit and/or the termination of the let with no refund of the cost.

By paying the Deposit the Client confirms they understand and accept the Terms and Conditions stated herein.
